Canis rufus - Red wolf
Range:  Southeastern and southcentral United States
Size:  60 lb (27 kg)

Here are two views of a fossil tooth of the red wolf (Canis rufus).  A right mandibular carnassial, the tooth is from the Rancholabrean age of the Pleistocene Epoch, and was found in the Withlacoochee River, Florida.
