An excerpt
from a January 1996 interview with Alison Reid, in which she comments on
disease in thylacines at the Beaumaris Zoo.

Alison
Reid's recollection of the last tiger arriving at the zoo with disease
is inaccurate. She is no doubt referring to the juvenile male caught
by T. Hunt near Tyenna that arrived at the zoo on the 24th January 1928.
This thylacine was sick on arrival and died within a few days on going
on display. It is highly probable that this animal was the source
of infection responsible for the deaths of at least seven of the zoo's
other thylacines that year.
