Circa
1958 illustration by German animal illustrator and graphic artist Wilhelm
Eigener (1904-1982).
From 1930 to 1938,
Eigener worked as chief draftsman at the Friedlander, a Hamburg printing
company where his main area of expertise was circus posters. By the
1950s, he had become a highly sought after animal and natural history book
illustrator. His realistic watercolors are featured in many books
on biology, and also on the covers of publications by Berlin Zoo. |
